QUFW also have experienced sonographers who use the latest ultrasound equipment and routinely scan using 3D and 4D for fetal assessment.

Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy

QUFW is run by obstetricians who are specialists in maternal and fetal medicine and obstetric ultrasound and who have extensive experience in the diagnosis and assessment of all suspected fetal abnormalities.  We also have a wide experience in all aspects of fetal therapy .

We have extensive experience in the management of multiple pregnancies and their complications as well as the largest expertise in the use of fetoscopic surgery for  the treatment of Twin Twin transfusion syndrome in Australia

3D Images

What to expect?

 Most of the ultrasound will be performed in normal grey 2D. The sonogrpahers will examine the various structures in the baby and will usually explain what they are doing.  During the scan varous structures will be imaged with 3D and also in realtime 4D. These images are often more recognisable of the baby.

Whilst you may see examples of easy to recognise images of the baby's face  and other structures in the waiting room, those are examples of the best images that we obtain.

Not every baby will be able to be seen in good detail. This maybe due to the position of the baby, its size, the stage of the pregnancy, the position of the uterus, the amount of fluid around the baby and the size of the mother.  Unfortunately we can never obtain high quality images in all babies for these reasons.
